Information Security Assurance Analyst (9+ month contract)

DESCRIPTION:
The Information Assurance Analyst manages antivirus/spyware, and other critical defensive systems protecting the company.
Tasks include performing vulnerability assessments, monitoring and reporting on access logs and enforcing policy.
As a member of the disaster response team, the Information Assurance Analyst also serves as a resource for risk assessment and disaster recovery, among other related tasks as directed by the department head.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring end-to-end protection of the network and data resources through the management and monitoring of the company’s defensive systems (IDS/IPS, scanners) and endpoint security systems (enterprise antivirus/spyware,).
- Hands-on and coordination (where appropriate) of remedial measures for security events.
- Co-ordinate technical resources supporting network security incident handling for virus outbreaks, etc.
- Generate regular and ad hoc reports on network security posture: event aggregation, detection statistics, access violations, remedial actions.
- Network vulnerability scanning and reporting.
- Assist Security Architect in development / refinement of IT security governance as deemed necessary.
- Keep abreast of industry security trends and current network threat profiles.
- Coordinate vulnerability management services for the organization.
- Integration of patch management and other automated system remediation systems with vulnerability assessment utilities (again OS-OPs).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Broad understanding of current network security technologies (in-line and endpoint), security industry trends, etc.
- Knowledge of IT security administration on a variety of platforms and technologies.
- Experience with application security administration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and experience in Windows and Linux/Unix administration
- Understanding of network protocols, topologies and traffic analysis.
- CISSP or GIAC certifications
- Experience in the administration of Trend Micro OfficeScan and Control Manager
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with global financial sector privacy and security regulations.
- Experience teaching security to groups and train-the-trainer
