Editor – Hip Hop Weekly Magazine



Hip Hop Weekly is a Miami-based, independent, glossy, nationally distributed hip hop news/music/style/culture bi-weekly publication, seeking a savvy, creative and proactive Editor. Primary Duties:

Co-management of “Feature” and department content, assessing and researching various amounts of news, music, current events, etc., communicating with publicists, pitching new related content story ideas, communicating to writers regarding assignments/expectations, enforcing deadlines and collecting story submissions, interviewing and writing as needed.



Time Requirement:

This is a full-time position with varying time requirements based on organizational efficiency and where we are in the publishing cycle. Hip Hop Weekly is published bi-weekly and operates on a production schedule from Thursday to Thursday, every other week.



Compensation:

Negotiable





APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS



Potential candidates must:

* Be located in Miami.



* Have excellent writing, editing and research skills. Experience preferred. Also a plus: degree in journalism, communications, or English.



* Have impeccable professional communication skills via email and phone.



* Have successful experience in supervisory or management roles.



* Be highly organized and able to track and manage several projects simultaneously.



* Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, FTP/Fetch). Familiar with basic InDesign procedures.
