Habitat for Humanity EKC of Wasington state is now seeking WSC Americorps members to serve from September 2007- July 2008 as Construction Volunteer Leads, Family Services Support, and an Americorps Team Leader.
Join us for ten and a half months to increase the supply of affordable housing, bring the community together, empower the lives of others and yourself, and work towards making green building affordable!
The need for affordable housing has reached critical proportion. Natural disasters, lack of land, the price of real estate, the increase in poverty rates—all of these issues play a part in preventing Americans from owning their own homes. Our mission is to empower families, build community and create hope through an aggressive home-building ministry. We construct homes using over 90% volunteer labor and sell homes with zero-interest mortgages at zero profit and with a zero financial down payment to families at 25% to 50% of the median income for our community.
Position Includes:
- Biweekly living allowance
- Health Coverage
- Student loan deferment
- Van pool to and from work sites
- On-site training
- $4,725 education award upon completion of service

- Share a commitment to community development and service
