Overseas DBA needed in Southwest Asia

Dev Technology Group, a growing government contractor headquartered in Reston, VA, has an opening for an Oracle Database Administrator based in Doha, Qatar long term. The successful candidate will support a DoD project as a Senior DBA. The person filling this position will be an integral part of a close knit, diverse team responsible for technical and program support for major Department of Defense programs and applications based overseas.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Must have Oracle DBA certification, extensive knowledge of Oracle database administration, SQL, Windows 2003 Server
4 or more years experience in process documentation and re-engineering
4 or more years experience in Oracle database administration with a customer/user interface role.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of five years related experience
Must be a savvy, pro-active trouble shooter within a Oracle applications and systems administration environment.
Knowledge of US military a plus.
POSITION DETAILS:
Software - Knowledgeable in the Windows Operating System environments (both 2000/XP Workstation and 2000/2003 Server) and hands on experience with Oracle RDBMS, used in both the client. Desire minimum of five years experience in application software development.
Communications - Knowledgeable in the communications requirements of client/server applications which include TCP/IP connectivity between the client and server. Also requires the ability to install, configure, and maintain various communications configurations such as modem or LAN connections between the client and server components.
Hardware - Knowledgeable in the installation and trouble-shooting of the hardware platform for fielded government applications which includes CPUs, digital cameras, bar code and fingerprint scanner devices, laser printers, modems, terminal servers, and various LAN and firewall configurations.
Capable of organizing and successfully executing sometimes lengthy travel to multiple countries to install DoD computer systems and train end users.
Able and willing to travel alone to countries where English is not the primary spoken language and there is little if any logistical support available.
Willing to reside and work in environments which sometimes do not meet typical American standards of living.
Position may require travel to military bases throughout SW Asia, may necessitate using military transportation.
Ability to work independently and work flexible hours including occasional weekends, evenings, holidays as necessary to support the mission.
Provide centralized technical support for application end users to report software, hardware and telecommunications problems.
Test and implement computer applications.
Track all incoming trouble calls from call initiation to problem resolution.
Diagnose end-user reported problems by working with the end user to resolve the problem, calling warranty trouble tickets in to the vendor, or assisting in shipping parts back to manufacturers.
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds in order to move account equipment to specified locations.
Required Skills:
Must meet the Department of Defense requirement for a DoD clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
